(AP) ? North Carolina will be without point guard Kendall Marshall for the Midwest Regional final against Kansas.

Freshman Stilman White will start for the second straight game in place of Marshall. White had been little used before playing 32 minutes with two points, six assists and no turnovers in the Tar Heels' overtime victory over Ohio in the semifinals Friday night.

A school spokesman says Marshall will not dress. Marshall was in street clothes on the bench for the semifinals.

Marshall tweeted: "Nothing hurts more than not being able to physically help your team, but I'm here with them spiritually now more than ever."

Marshall, who is left-handed, broke his right wrist when he was fouled on a drive against Creighton on Sunday. Without Marshall, the top-seeded Tar Heels committed a season-worst 24 turnovers in the semifinals.

Coach Roy Williams said Marshall participated in portions of practice Saturday and had his wrist wrapped in an ice pack in the locker room afterward.

Marshall was a second-team all-Atlantic Coast Conference pick. He averages nine assists, and his total of 351 is the best season total in conference history, and fourth-most in NCAA history.

Kansas coach Bill Self said Saturday he would prepare his team expecting Marshall to play.
