Dancing With the Stars Shocker: A Favorite Goes Home!

All seven and we watched one fall.

Ralph Macchio hadn't been in jeopardy all season on Dancing With the Stars, so why would Karina Smirnoff's stumble pull him down this week?

Well, perhaps because it was jeopardy-by-numbers tonight as the celebs with the highest scores?Romeo, Chelsea Kane, Hines Ward and Kirstie Alley?all got to be safe right away for a change, leaving the remaining three to wait it out.

Through the Pia Toscano performance (and her subsequent grilling by Tom Bergeron) and everything.

But though it was a close shave for Ralph, it was wrestler Chris Jericho who got pinned in last place and didn't get enough votes to go another round.

And though we're sad to see him go, Chris may have offered the best goodbye remarks yet.

"It's actually good timing that I got eliminated because I have to fly over to England for the royal wedding, you know, so it was going to affect rehearsal," he joked with partner Cheryl Burke smiling at his side.

"But actually, let's be honest, it wasn't my best dance and at this point in the competition you have to be at your best every week or this is what happens. But I'd like to say I'm proud of all the dances we did, and I'm proud to show that a WWE guy and a rock 'n' roll singer can go this far and do this."

"The only reason I got this far was because of Cheryl," Chris added. "She's a great performer, she's become a friend for life...I haven't seen my kids in four weeks, so it's time for Chris Jericho the Dancer to step aside and Chris Jericho the Daddy to come back."

Awww.

Happily for Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett, she was not voted off after she scored the weekly encore with her bouncy samba, proving that a reality-TV star and a self-professed tomboy can go this far and do this.

Since the elimination was a rough one, we have to say the highlight of the night was Donnie Wahlberg and former Dancing contestant Joey McIntyre ending the NKOTBSB medley of "I Want It That Way" and "Step by Step" by showing off some moves with a couple of the female DWTS pros.

Joey, sure, but Donnie? Who knew?!

Tom Bergeron also was a one-man highlight reel, as usual.

Tom Bergeron, the guy who passed on talking to Chris Brown on-camera as a precaution, of course put the tough question to Pia about her reported relationship with Dancing pro Mark Ballas, who performed with Karina while the American Idol castoff sang "I'll Stand by You."

He didn't ask if they were dating, only if Mark was a good kisser.

"He's a wonderful person," Pia replied deftly.

The remaining six continue their quest for the mirror-ball trophy next Monday.
